It
may not be cost effective for many small users of the Disclosure
service to pay the CRB registration fee, and it may be difficult for
employers to operate as a registered body, in relation to their Code
of Practice.

A major concern for organisations is the handling
and storage of sensitive Disclosure information together with
operating to other recommendations outlined in the CRB Code of
Practice.
Companies or organisations may not have the necessary budget
available to set up and operate as a registered body; therefore, it
may be financially efficient to buy in this service.
Operating as a registered body will increase the need for additional
administration staff who will need to be trained in adopting the new
office procedures. This can be both costly and time consuming.
Security involving sensitive information will also be a major
consideration. All aspects of security need to comply with the CRB
Code of Practice in both the handling and storage of the applicant's data.
